Lovely insight! I love the idea of a solid routine and I think it would make me *feel* more productive. BUT… I also pull away from toon much structure and am often drained by the time I get to my writing days. Perhaps that will change soon…. 🤞
So funny that you posted this during the week when I am trying to figure out my pwn schedule. At least this week I have found morning pages incredibly helpful, even if I don't write the full amount. I love reading about author routines.
I’m fascinated by people’s writing spaces and it’s so lovely to have an insight into yours Jennie! I love your wallpaper and I really enjoyed reading about your routine. Thanks for sharing! ✨
Love your writing room, the colour is so calming and relaxing 💚🩵 (mix those two colours!). I bought JC’s TAW a couple of years ago and tried really hard to follow it. I love morning pages but couldn’t get past the guilt I felt at not being spiritual enough 🙈😅 maybe I’ll go back to it and skip those bits?
Thanks Kate! I love this room so much. And re TAW, I definitely had to grit my teeth sometimes when things got a bit too esoteric for me, but she talks about that at the beginning, and says to just ‘do it anyway’ and I think that’s good advice!
> I know lots of people who don’t/can’t read while they are drafting, but I find it virtually impossible to sleep without reading.
I’ve never understood this one. I could never write anything, if it meant giving up reading!
I love reading about others routines too. I’m also keen to get the mundane and admin tasks done before writing. It clears my head somehow.
I gotta agree with you too on that one !
Exactly this!

Ordering TAW IMMEDIATELY. xx
Huuuuurrrrrraaaaaahhhhh! PLEASE let me know how you get on with it x
I love watching routines on YouTube as well 🙈 and reading about them too, so I very much enjoyed this post. And your room is so cute and cosy !
I’m so happy not to be the only one! And thank you, I really love it!
I have now downloaded the Chopra app – thank you for the recommendation! And so nice to see the mention of my pod, thank you ❤️
Always Hattie! (And hope you get on with the Chopra app! I love it)

That wallpaper is my absolute fave! Thanks Hannah! X
Thank you so much for sharing your routine, Jennie. As a writer who needs perhaps a bit more “discipline” I’m taking notes! :)
Thank you Allison!
Very insightful. Thanks! (Now I only have to write 997 words today. Um, 986. Shit )
Good luck!

I’ll defo look it out again now
Always interesting to read what others’ habits are. Mine vary, but often very different to yours!
