I feel you on this. I'm also a control freak and it really is the worst job for people like us. That's why i fixate on something else when it's the waiting bit. Hope you have news soon.
This is such a good idea. Waiting makes me insane! A friend of mine who always has many creative projects on the go has started focusing on completing one thing at a time and it is so satisfying.
This is the exact reason why, when offered the chance of mainstream publication, after much thought I declined, and decided to keep going as an indie where every moment of writing, pre-publication and publication is within my own timescale. The freedom is astonishing. Both creatively and financially.
Any 'waiting' is at my own choosing and I live life to the absolute fullest. The other thing I discovered very early on, is such freedom (for me) encouraged more creativity rather than less. But it's different for everyone.
Good luck with your journey - I'm sure you will eventually settle to its rhythms and enjoy it. Cheers.
You are absolutely right. It is different for everyone. I am really glad you love your choice. I love mine too. I just like to share about the things I learn along the way.
My favourite thing to do is
add things to the to do list I have just done
and cross them off
but I just can't make
the phone call to EE
or
the appointment with an apple genius

I agree, Jennie. I had no idea about all the waiting around. I have flurries of activity and then weeks of nothing. Thank goodness for the day job!
